infertility in men and women

INFERTILITY IN MEN AND WOMEN
Infertility is the inability of a woman not to conceive a baby or the inability of sperm not to pregnant or fertilize an egg.
This condition is majorly as a result of imbalance in follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone in women; this can reduce or stop menstruation and make ovulation infrequent, giving less chances of conceiving. it is a common knowledge amongst medical professionals that most fertility problems are caused by hormonal imbalances. e.g. excess of estrogen can cause conditions such as fibroids and endometriosis ,which cause fertility challenges in women.
Similarly, men with low sperm counts lack sufficient levels of testosterone to produce the millions of healthy motile sperm required to conceive a baby.
Toxicity is also a common cause of unexplained infertility as well as the rise in reproductive complaints such as low sex drive, fibroids, low sperm count etc.
In the statistical report, there is an indication that 40% of infertility is largely due to male factor infertility with low sperm counts being the primary cause.
Unfortunately an increasing number of men are being diagnosed with low sperm counts, high rates of abnormally formed sperm cells and poor motility rate. World health organization suggests the average sperm count has fallen 50% world-wide in the past 50years. Studies indicate that lifestyle factors are largely to blame for the declining sperm counts and sperm quality.
Both men and women are exposed to toxic fumes, pesticides in fruits and vegetables and fertility damaging chemicals in house hold products. chemicals in food, water and cosmetics are not the only cause, free radicals damage DNA and this result in high percentage of deformed, dead or dying sperm.
Infact, doctors have found that men with sperm vitality problems have higher concentrations of free radicals in their semen than men with normal, healthy sperm. more so cigarettes, alcohol, poor diets and nutritionally deficient foods contribute to the lower sperm counts and other sperm related problems such as poor motility, vitality and morphology. Eating natural and nutritional amount of diet is needed to create a healthy sperm.
Overweight or obesity has its own effect too and care must be taken to address this issue at same time.
